Kate Didn't Wear Her Ring During Cancer Hospital Visit

When the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William arrived for a special visit to a cancer hospital outside London, her world-famous engagement ring was there for all to see.
But more than two hours later, as she left the Royal Marsden's new $28 million unit for children, some observers noted that the sapphire and diamond sparkler (previously owned by Princess Diana) had mysteriously vanished.
A palace source tells PEOPLE that Kate, 29, had slipped off and placed it in her clutch – for hygiene reasons on advice of the hospital staff. She stored it in her bag and carried it out in that afterward.
"The plan was always to take it off when she went into the ward in the same way the Duke and palace staff rolled up sleeves and tucked ties into their shirts," the source says.
The bags, and William’s jacket, were left in the care of hospital staff while they toured the Oak Centre, which the couple formally opened.
Indeed, when the royal couple met two young leukemia sufferers in the new unit during their two-hour visit, William walked in with his suit jacket off, sleeves rolled up and was rubbing an antiseptic gel into his hands.
The visit to the Royal Marsden, of which William is president, followed a private visit for the Duchess to the National Portrait Gallery. Insiders say that it is all part of her ongoing project to pick charities and causes that she could work with and also learn more about the major cultural bodies in the country. "We were delighted to have had her here with us," spokesman Neil Evans tells PEOPLE of Wednesday's "behind-the-scenes" tour.
Later Thursday, Kate helped William and his brother Prince Harry host a private reception at St James's Palace to thank those who have been helping their joint charitable foundation this past year.

Lady Gaga Sues Company Trying to Trademark Her Name

Lady Gaga says a Nevada-based company is trying to horn in on her fame to market cosmetics and jewelry. She's suing in New York.
The Grammy Award-winning pop star sued Excite Worldwide LLC on Monday. The lawsuit says the company applied without her permission to trademark the names "Lady Gaga" and "Lady Gaga LG" for makeup and baubles.
Excite Worldwide didn't immediately respond to telephone messages Wednesday at numbers listed for the company in Chicago and Henderson, Nevada.
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records show the applications haven't been approved. But the "Poker Face" singer says they're muddying her efforts to add to her own suite of trademarks surrounding her name.
Her suit says customers could be duped into thinking she's affiliated with Excite Worldwide's products. She's seeking unspecified damages.

Love Or Sex?

Kristie Alley

Kirstie Alley Is Looking for Love, Not Sex

Fellas, take note.Kirstie Alley may be single, hot and rocking a new, slimmed-down body, but she's no cougar on the prowl.
"The easiest thing on this planet is to [find sex], but I don't see the merit in that," says Alley, 60, who recently dropped 100 lbs. and walked the runway at New York Fashion Week. "What I'm looking for is someone who loves me deeply and is madly in love with me, for me."
Twice divorced, Alley isn't pointing fingers at anyone for past relationship mistakes. "I think when you get into the mind-set of, 'Oh, this guy did this to me', you aren't taking responsibility," says Alley, who has two children, True and Lillie, with her second husband, actor Parker Stevenson. "In the final hour, it's actually what you did to you."
So, does Alley think she'll find true love?
"Certainly. For me, it's all about love," she says. "I wasn't looking for the right thing before. … I want someone who has my back. And if I'm being attacked, they fricking attack back. Now, that's bravery."

Racing 0-0 Real Madrid: All Highlights

Jose Mourinho's men struggle to uninspiring stalemate
Real Madrid was looking to bounce back from last weekend’s humiliating defeat to Levante with a good performance on the road against Racing Santander.
The visitors began the match poorly though as the home side had the lion's share of possession in the early going.
Madrid showed its frustration after Germany international Mesut Ozil received the first booking of the night in the 21st minute. However, the away side almost took the lead moments later when Lassana Diarra fired a powerful shot from 20 yards wide of the post.
Jose Mourinho's men then had another wonderful chance to score in the 35th minute after Marcelo put in a darting cross in the penalty area for Callejon only for the ball to roll right past his feet.

Real Madrid began to find its stride at the stroke of halftime as Ronaldo struck a left-footed volley wide while Callejon nearly finished a header from a brilliant cross outside the box, only for the keeper to grab it.
The Galacticos kicked off the second half, but it was the home side who immediately came on strong. Serrano nearly found the back of the net in the 47th minute with a powerful volley aimed at the bottom right corner of the goal, only for Casillas to tap it away with the tip of his fingers.
Real Madrid was gaining more and more possession in the beginning of the second half.  Argentine midfielder Di Maria hit a thunder strike from the left side that went just above the crossbar for the keeper to tap it away.
Real Madrid gave its best shot to score in the last minutes of the match, only for Mourinho’s men to go two games without a win.

Valencia 2 vs 2 Barcelona: All Highlights And Goals

Valencia 2-2 Barcelona: Fabregas nets late leveller as champions twice come from behind

Valencia proved that it can mix it with the big guns in La Liga after playing out a 2-2 draw against Barcelona at the Mestalla Wednesday.
The hosts went into halftime with a 2-1 advantage after an own goal from Eric Abidal and a Pablo Hernandez strike. However, a Pedro effort in the first half and a Cesc Fabregas strike late in the second period gave Pep Guardiola's men a share of the points, in what was an enthralling, end-to-end encounter.
Major team news included Guardiola's decision to bench David Villa, who was returning to his former club, instead opting for a three pronged attack of Fabregas, Lionel Messi and Pedro.
The home side started the better, and took the lead in the 12th minute when Jeremy Mathieu made a strong run down the left hand side and fizzed a ball into the Barcelona penalty area, forcing Eric Abidal to accidentally stub the ball into his own net.

This advantage was short-lived, however, as the visitors equalized just two minutes later when Lionel Messi slipped a pass down the left of the Valencia box for Pedro, who managed to squeeze the ball past Guaita at his near post with a left footed shot.
Barcelona grew into the game from this moment, and perhaps should have had a penalty when Rami brought down Messi in the penalty area, but the referee waved play on, much to the annoyance of the Argentine.
Valencia was creating chances of its own, though, and regained the lead when Mathieu again drove to the byline and whipped in a cross, and this time it was Pablo who arrived totally unmarked at the back post to finished expertly with a first-time shot into the bottom right corner.
In front of a vibrant Mestalla crowd, the hosts continued to take the game to the champions, constantly stifling Barcelona's attacks with intense pressing and brilliant anticipation. They were always a threat on the counterattack and should have collected a two-goal lead when Roberto Soldado got on the end of another Mathieu cross, but agonizingly missed with the goal at his mercy.
The second half was a tighter affair than the first period, with both sides involved in a midfield battle. However, it was Barcelona who looked most likely to score and it eventually grabbed the equalizer when Lionel Messi clipped a pass over the Valencia defence to Cesc Fabregas who coolly passed the ball into the bottom left corner.
Pep Guardiola's side probed for a winner in the last few but Unai Emery's men remained solid, despite Jordi Alba's late red card leaving them hanging on as Messi continued to exert pressure.
This result leaves Barcelona in fourth place in La Liga, whereas Valencia finds itself proudly top of the table with an unbeaten record so far, and Emery will be content to see his side more than match the European champions.

Selena Gomez on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno!

Watch last night's broadcast of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno featuring Selena Gomez & The Scene performing the hit "Love You Like A Love Song"!

9/19 Tonight Show with Jay Leno:
Backstage Interview:

new jennifer lopez music video

If Jennifer Lopez wanted to make a post-breakup statement about her alluring charm, she sure succeeded with the "Papi" video, which debuted in its entirety on Monday (September 19).

Directed by Paul Hunter, J.Lo's just-dropped visual shows a chaotic frenzy-turned-chase, wherein the pop star attracts the attention of hoards of men as she strolls down a city street. Lopez begins the five-minute clip by chatting it up with her apartment mail attendant Lisa, confessing that her Army lover has not returned back to her. Lisa offers the singer a cookie that she claims will make "your love come back." Unfortunately, Jenny from the Block takes a chunk out of the cookie instead of a "small bite," marking the beginning of the captivating spell she unwittingly casts on every man she passes by.
The magic takes 24 hours to take effect as Lopez embarks on a walk the following day and realizes her sudden irresistible allure. Lopez's charm isn't restricted to any particular type of "papi" as she draws notice from a corporate businessman, a gardener and even a high-flying motorcyclist. Upon entering her car, her admirers become more and more aggressive and chase her down the street.
Just like many of her clips, "Papi" offers some comical choreography when the entertainer realizes that her league of men move in synch with her, offering her a way to escape. Cue the video's dance break. But Lopez's tactic doesn't last for long as the men grab hold of her until her uniform-clad lover walks off a bus and reunites with the pop star.
"The craziest thing happened," Lopez says in an attempt to explain the fiasco to her lover.
Hunter and Lopez have previously worked together on a number of videos, including "If You Had My Love," "Feelin' So Good" and "Love Don't Cost a Thing." "Papi" was produced by hit-maker RedOne and serves as the third single off J.Lo's comeback album Love? In the clip for her previous single, "I'm Into You," the pop singer hinted about the release of the club-ready track with another mid-video dance break.
Earlier this month, Lopez explained the inspiration behind the song when she called into "On-Air With Ryan Seacrest." "I was working in the studio with RedOne and his guys, and at the time, I was always kind of like, I always use the word 'papi,' " she recalled. "And they were like, 'We're going to write a song called 'Papi,' and we just wrote the song about loving somebody and just celebrating that."
Lopez is expected to make her debut performance of the dance track at the iHeartRadio Festival, which will also feature sets from Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jay-Z and many others, later this month.

Leighton Meester, though—Leighton did a lot of shopping in Paris. She was so funny. She’s probably more of a shopper than I am.”

Barcelona 8-0 Osasuna

The Argentine struck three times, while David Villa claimed a brace in a wonderful win for the Catalans. Cesc Fabregas and Xavi also scored, and Roversio put into his own net.
Barcelona put recent disappointments well and truly behind them as they resumed normal service with a sensational 8-0 win at home to Osasuna in the Primera Division on Saturday evening.Pep Guardiola's side had drawn their last two matches against Real Sociedad and AC Milan, having been pegged back after taking a two-goal lead against the Basque outfit and then conceding a last-gasp header to Thiago Silva in their Champions League opener on Tuesday.

Those 2-2 draws highlighted the need for a leader at the back in the absence of injured duo Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol, who had come on as a late substitute against the Italians.

Puyol was back in the side for his first appearance since April, having finally recovered from a knee injury, allowing Sergio Busquets - poor in each of the last two games as a makeshift centre-back - to return to his habitual role in central midfield.

Puyol began in a three-man back-line, alongside Javier Mascherano and Eric Abidal, with Dani Alves pushed forward in an advanced role as an extra midfielder.

And the new system paid dividends early on as both Busquets and Alves played a key part in Lionel Messi's fifth-minute opener.

Busquets picked out Alves' run down the right with a precise lofted pass and the Brazilian headed across the area for Messi, who stretched out his right foot to scramble the ball home  at the far post.

Seven minutes later, Fabregas made it two after he was set up by Messi's lobbed pass and blasted a fine volley past Osasuna goalkeeper Andres Fernandez.

Barca had been two up at Real Sociedad after 12 minutes last weekend, but ended up with only a point following the Basques' second-half comeback at Anoeta.

However, there appeared no chance of a repeat here as the Catalans remained rampant, with both Abidal and Messi heading against the woodwork before David Villa made it 3-0 after 33 minutes.

The Spain striker latched onto Abidal's clever through-ball, rounded Fernandez and slotted into the empty net to make it look so easy for the home side.

And it was, but Osasuna played their part in their own downfall as well, particularly as Barca went four up six minutes before the interval.

Abidal's long pass from his own half freed Villa, totally unmarked, and although the striker's shot was saved by Fernandez, Ruben could only direct the rebound into his own net.

Moments later, four then became five in what looked like a simple training ground exercise, with Xavi threading the ball to Cesc, and the former Arsenal captain turning to set up Messi, who slotted a low shot into the corner to give the hosts an unassailable lead at the break.

Messi then came desperately close to a hat-trick five minutes into the second half as he chipped a delightful effort onto the crossbar, but the Argentine turned provider shortly afterwards as he curled a wonderful pass to Xavi to lob Fernandez for an exquisite sixth of the evening.

Puyol had already departed by then and he was followed off shortly afterwards by Xavi, as Guardiola sought to protect two of his leading lights.

Six goals to the good, Barca's intensity inevitably dropped and Nino came close at the other end, while Osasuna also saw an Ibrahima header ruled out for offside.

The home side had further chances, though, and Villa curled a rasping effort just over the bar with 20 minutes left.

Six minutes later, Villa did score again as the Osasuna defence gifted the ball to Cesc in the area and the summer signing squared unselfishly for his team-mate to slot into the empty net.

Messi then made it eight as he completed his hat-trick, playing a clever one-two with the brilliant Fabregas and running through the Osasuna defence to slide a routine finish into the corner after some mesmerising build-up play around the visitors' area.

Osasuna will have been happy to have avoided double fugures in the end as they managed to negotiate the final 12 minutes without further damage.

The northerners, like Barca, had taken four points from their first two games and are now provisionally in eighth place.

Guardiola's side, meanwhile, move up to second, where they sit two points adrift of Valencia, but the Catalans could also be overtaken by Betis and title rivals Real Madrid, who face Levante on Sunday.
